Remembering 9/11 in Olympia

Well, there's not much, except in my heart.

Nothing on the front page of my paper this morning. Buried inside, a single AP article about a 9/11 museum, and an AP article about muslims still fearing unspecified "backlash" on this day.

The quote that caught my eye was: "I get a sick feeling in my stomach every year", said Nancy Rokayak, 45 of Charlotte, N.C., who covers her hair in public. "I feel on 9/11 others look at me and blame me for the events that took place."

Events that took place. Sheesh. They were attacks. Attacks by muslim terrorists.

Note that she doesn't get "a sick feeling" because she knows that it was her co-religionists who, in the name of her religion, deliberately murdered those innocents and forever befouled her religion. No. It because us "others" might look at her funny. And, with no proof whatsoever, thinks that those "looks" mean these "others" blame her, personally, for those "events". Unreal.

Well, I get a sick feeling thinking that there are muslim terrorists out there, hiding behind her skirts, plotting to kill people like me for no reason other than that we are the "other".

Also, nothing on the Google page again this year.

By the way -- I do not acknowledge Obamagoos takeover of 9/11 for his 'Service Me' day.

Prostitution Free!

As in a "Prostitution Free Zone" for the Obama?Soetoro? inauguration, not that prostitution will be free on inauguration day. Silly concept. Does that mean they'll tolerate prostitution outside the zone that day? Or that prostitution is OK in the area on other days?

Heh. So, most of the MSM and Congress will have to be banned under this as well . . .

Transition Tradition

Remember when President Bush took office in 2001? Here's a reminder:

White House Vandalized In Transition, G.A.O. Finds
The General Accounting Office, an investigative arm of Congress, said today that ''damage, theft, vandalism and pranks did occur in the White House complex'' in the presidential transition from Bill Clinton to George W. Bush. The agency put the cost at $13,000 to $14,000, including $4,850 to replace computer keyboards, many with damaged or missing W keys.

Some of the damage, it said, was clearly intentional. Glue was smeared on desk drawers. Messages disparaging President Bush were left on signs and in telephone voice mail. A few of the messages used profane or obscene language. ''A Secret Service report documented the theft of a presidential seal that was 12 inches in diameter from the Eisenhower Executive Office Building,'' next to the White House, on Jan. 19, 2001, the accounting office said.

Six White House employees told investigators that they had seen graffiti derogatory to Mr. Bush on the wall of a stall in a men's room. Other White House employees saw a sticker in a filing cabinet that said, ''Jail to the thief,'' implying that Mr. Bush had stolen the 2000 election.

They also stole several antique door knobs, ripped phone cords from walls, left obscene voicemail messages, defaced bathrooms and vandalized computer keyboards by removing the ”W” keys.

Their excuse? "Everybody does it. It's no big deal. Normal wear and tear." So, it'll be interesting to see if President Bush's people play similar pranks on the newbies coming in. Somehow, I doubt it.

President Bush has been taking extraordinary pains to make sure this transition goes as smoothly as possible. I hope people will appreciate that, and give him the credit he deserves. I'm not holding my breath, though.

Oh, and all you liberal Bush Bashers who are so belatedly saying it's time to return to civility, and we need to treat each other with respect now that your Chosen One is ascending to the throne? I say -- you go first. Say some sincerely nice things about President Bush, and maybe I'll be convinced you mean "we" and not just "you guys".

Gregoire for Commerce!

Our governor here in Washington (the State), Christine Gregoire, disappeared from her office for a day or two very mysteriously. Turned out it was a worthy trip to Baghdad to visit our troops there, but the rumor mill had her as possibly being up for Soetoro?Obama?'s second choice for Commerce after Richardson dove under the bus.

Anyway, my thought was: win-win! If Gregoire went to the other Washington, the quality of both our State government and the Soetoro?Obama? administration would improve tremendously. Sigh.

The Framing of TeamSarah.org

I've just joined TeamSarah.org.

I never would have known about the website group except for an article on Flopping Aces about how a group of up to 90 progressive sock puppets were busted trying to infiltrate the group.

They posed as supporters and posted racist and hateful comments in the blogs and forums, then used their own comments to show how racist and hateful TeamSarah supporters are. They even got the HuffPo to spread their propaganda for them. The Weekly Standard Blog has more details.

So -- who are the haters here? How they can think this behavior can advance their cause (whatever they think it is), I'll never know.

Peace in Israel

I've been following the conflict in Gaza via blogs such as http://www.israellycool.com/. I really can't see how any human being can lower themselves so far as to be sympathetic to Hamas. They deliberately place civilians in danger and provoke military responses, which they then use as propaganda against Israel. I am outraged by this behavior, and outraged that it has gone on for so long without strong condemnation from the UN and our media.

No one who is an apologist for, or who supports Hamas in any way, can lay claim to being for peace. The destruction of Israel does not equal 'peace'. There will be no peace in Israel, or anywhere else in the world, until Hamas and all Islamic death cults are defeated -- militarily and socially.

Thank you, Israel, for taking on this thankless task.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
- John Stuart Mill - English economist & philosopher (1806 - 1873)

On Abortion

How can one be for the death penalty for innocent fetuses whose only crime was to inconveniently get conceived, yet be against the death penalty for convicted murderers and child rapists?
